This is a great App! Kids are learning number lines in school and it gives them practice. They love expanding and shrinking the number line. Worth purchasing.
This is a lite version. This is not advertised until after you pay for it and open the app. The full version is double the price.
This app is deceptive. My kid got to play 1 level after we bought it for $2.99 and then it wouldnt let us do anymore levels and it was making us pay another $2.99 for the rest of the levels. Do not buy!
This app is a very innovative way to teach number sense to kids! My nephew was really engaged and having a lot of fun playing it! I liked that he got it all on his own, I didnt have to explain it to him.
Perfect for young kids learning math basics. Fun graphics keeps the kid entertained and tuned into learning!
My eight-year-old loves this game and is learning important math concepts. We both like the other motion math game as well. Highly recommended!
Gameplay is simple, but there is great sophistication in the concepts and the presentation. This is a great fun way to learn about magnitude and numbers in general.
There are only 2 levels that are free. Then you pay 4.99 for the last 24 levels.
I really enjoyed playing around with this one - Its a novel approach to the concept and my kids pick it up pretty quickly. I met the guys that built this game once - Not only is it a company you know is going far, but each release is based on accepted math standards and sound educational research. Excited to see what Motion Math comes up with next!
As a former high school math teacher, this is my favorite math app for my own children (ages 8 and 11). Honestly, there are a lot of secondary students who could benefit from it. I absolutely LOVE it! I was a bit put off by the high price of the extra levels ($4.99), but decided it was worth it for such a great visual understanding of place value. The graphics are super cute and engagine and the interface is intuitive. I also like that I can have separate players. That way I can play through to higher levels without having my kids miss out on the lower ones. :)
The app is nice and engaging, but after just 2 levels (and not the 6 in the description), it asks you to enter your iTunes password!! Why would I give these guys my iTunes password? This is a major security issue and I think this app, as is, should be taken off the app store.
So, kids will love this because its fun and addicting and simple, yet engaging in a very productive way. The methods used to convey scale of numbers actually made me think about just HOW MUCH bigger is 1,000 than 10? Its really a great tool and super fun game. I think the devs. could do more to make the background reflect scale, in addition to the animals, but thats somewhat minor. Overall, great game and fabulous idea.
Each time you play a level you are given the same numbers in the same order. It is a great concept but you need to change it up the numbers given each time a level is played should be different otherwise kids will just remember the pattern.
this game is wirde. But its cool, aseome
This game is truly unique in its ability to provide children with an intuition for the whole space of numbers - with its macroscopic and microscopic scales. Oh yes, and it is a ton of fun! :-)
Great way to visualize an important math concept. Look forward to seeing what other great apps you will come up with
Shhh, dont tell them they are learning numbers. My kids spend hours on Zoom on the iPad and iPhone. My 2nd grader just cant stop talking about the "froggies and doggies". A classic.
As a parent and an educator, Im happy with this little game for kids. It get them to think about numbers and scales in a visual manner. Another hit for Motion Math. In response to other reviews - the in-app upgrade is well worth it for the kids to unlock all of the levels. You cant really review the app without that!
Brilliant game - Very simple in concept, but a clever way for kids to understand decimals and negative numbers. Love the zoom pictures of different animals so kids get an easy visual on relative sizes of numbers. My son, who has autism, asks to play it every day (but he always turns the needle off so he doesnt get frustrated if he cant find the answer quickly enough). I made a profile for myself, too, to try it out, and quickly became addicted! I love seeing todays touch screen technology used creatively like this. Kids dont even realize how much they are learning because they are just having fun. Kid appealing, Mom approved!
